Essie spring 2012 Tour de Finance swatches & comparison

When I checked out the bottle I was a little disappointed thinking
this was a dupe for last summer's super bossa nova, I included
a comparison in this post to show you it is not :) Tour de
finance has a blue-ish reflection in the shimmers and is opaque
and smooth in 2 coats. This color was not my thing at first, but
I started to love it more and more

teleurgesteld want ik dacht een dupe voor essie's
super bossa nova van vorige zomer in mijn handen te hebben.
Dit is dus niet het geval, vandaar dat ik meteen even een
vergelijking heb gedaan :) Tour de Finance heeft mooie
shimmers die een blauwige gloed geven en deze lak
is mooi dekkend en egaal in 2 laagjes. Deze kleur was
in de eerste istantie niet echt mijn ding, maar ik ga m steeds
meer en meer waarderen.

Yes as you can see in the picture I was in a hurry so I layered
the 2 other shades over the 2 coats of tour de finance :) I was
too afraid the sun would be gone before the mani was dry :)

Orly Flirty is a much lighter shade of pink and Super Bossa
nova is a shade darker and has more shimmer.

Je kan op de fotos wel duidelijk de verschillen zien tussen Tour
de Finance en Flirty (veel lichter). Super bossa nova komt
in de buurt maar is donkerder en heeft een andere shimmer.

This is one of the most famous Lippmann polishes, and even tough I have seen many swatches of this glittery party, once on your own nails it is a totally different experience. This will be my choice for B-days and carnaval! This is 3 coats and Lippmann glitter polishes are very long lasting.

These extreme weather conditions (-15degrees celcius come on! :S) make my skin seriously dry, ichy and sensitive, so I have to let these products do all the work and keep my skin smooth and hydrated :)

I took these pics a while ago and I added a lot of Opi's since then, but this series will also have a part III to prevent the posts from getting too big and picture heavy :) You know the bad thing of doing stash shots, I always remember the shades I don't own anymore, shangrila lilac, maliblue, tutti frutti tonga and so many others...sweet polish memories :)

Ik heb deze fotos een tijdje terug genomen en sindsdien zijn er best veel lakken bijgekomen, maar van deze reeks volgt er ook nog een deel III want anders werd het berichtje iets te zwaar qua fotos :) weet je wat alleen zo vervelend is aan het nemen van stash fotos? Ik herinner me altijd de lakken die niet meer in mijn bezit zijn :( shangri la lilac, maliblue, tutti frutti tonga en ga zo maar door...bitterzoete herinneringen aan nagellak, gelukkig komen er steeds zoveel mooie nieuwe kleurtjes bij :)

A while ago Oscar de La Renta L'Esprit was introduced, my taste in fragrance changes by the day, so I have a collection of very different types of fragrances. Currently I am mostly into classy floral perfumes (think Guerlain Champs Elysées and Beautiful from Estée Lauder) and L'esprit is a very floral but delicate scent that is sophisticated but outspoken enough for me. I also think the bottle is gorgeous. Esprit d'Oscar is available at selected retailers and worth the try. So many new fragrances are all thesame to me, there is so little variety and this is a refreshingly different experience. Esprit D'Oscar contains Sicilian limes, bergamot, lemon, Jasmine from Egypt, Orange blossom, tuberose, Musk and Vetiver. Esprit D'oscar is available from 60 euros for 50 ml. (Dutch retail) what type of fragrances are you currently wearing?

Esprit D'Oscar is sinds kort een van de nieuwe aanwintsten van Parfumland, en gelukkig eentje die niet zoals de meeste nieuwe geuren inwisselbaar zijn (of ligt het gewoon aan mij dat veel geuren hetzelfde ruiken of werkt dat marketingtechnisch gewoon het beste voor de verkoop???). Esprit is een echte elegante bloemengeur, het type geur waar ik de laatste tijd meestal naar grijp als ik een geurtje opdoe. Ik ben best wel schizofreen qua parfums, ik heb echt heel veel uiteenlopende geuren staan, maar de laatste tijd ben ik vooral van de klassieke bloemengeuren (denk klassiekers als guerlain Champs Elysées, Beautiful van Estée Lauder) en Esprit D'Oscar is dan wel een delicate bloemengeur, maar net opvallend genoeg om toch bijzonder te zijn. Esprit D'Oscar bevat oa Siciliaanse limoenen, bergamot, citroen, Egyptische jasmijn, oranjebloesem, tuberoos, Muskus en vetiver. Verkrijgbaar bij geselecteerde parfumeriezaken vanaf 60 euro voor 50 ml. wat voor type geur draag jij momenteel het liefst?

Wic France collection for spring 2012

In the past Wic released at least 2 limited edition collections each year, but they are stepping up and will release 6 collections each year from now on. I think 6 is a lot, and it will be difficult to create unique shades, but...we will see what happens :) I am very curious that's for sure. Here's the first wic collection for 2012, inspired by France. I love the hot pink!
Voorheen kwamen er jaarlijks minstens 2 limited edition collecties van WIC uit en vanaf dit jaar gaat dat veranderen, vanaf nu zullen er jaarlijks 6 nieuwe wic collecties verschijnen. Ik vind het een flink aantal en ben benieuwd hoe vernieuwend je kan blijven met zo een aantal collecties, maar dat zullen we de komende maanden vanzelf gaan meemaken :) Hier is de eerste WIC collectie voor 2012, France, de hot pink is nu al mijn favoriet!

light green creme, I expected something completely different,
it's not that I don't like this shade, but I feel somethings missing,
perhaps this should haven been a shimmer like last year's
coat azure. This is too in between for me. The formula is
awesome. This really has to grow on me, or perhaps
I have to wear it with a shimmer on top...hmmm

lichtgroene cremelak. Ik verwachtte iets totaal anders, niet dat ik
deze kleur niet leuk vind, maar ik heb het gevoel dat deze
lak niet helemaal af is, misschien had het een shimmer moeten
zijn zoals coat azure uit de lentecollectie van vorig jaar. Dit
is het gewoon net niet voor mij. Jammer, de lak zelf
is trouwens fantastisch, misschien moet ik er gewoon aan
wennen of er een laagje shimmer over aanbrengen...hmmm

Essie to buy or not to buy 2 coats

To buy or not to buy is a pale lavender with to die for rainbow
coloured shimmer which sinks in the polish once applied...
boohoohoo why????? I noticed the shimmer again when I
removed the polish, this is a tragic case of formula malfunction.
Please essie, create a topping polish with these rainbow
shimmers so we can add them to all our Essie polishes! :)
The formula goes on a little sheer, I really with those
stunning shimmers would show trough the lavender polish...

To buy or not to buy is een lila met een adembenemende
shimmer in alle kleuren van de regenboog die helaas naar
beneden zinken zodra je je nagels lakt en dus niet zichtbaar is :(
Ik zag de shimmers weer toen ik de lak verwijderde,
tragisch gevalletje van een niet correcte formule....
Essie, alsjeblieft, creër een toplak met die shimmertjes
zodat we een laagje regenboog over al onze lakjes kunnen
aanbrengen! :) De lak is een beetje transparant, zucht
ik zou zo graag willen dat die mooie shimmer
zichtbaar was...

Ik merkte het toen ik vorige week mijn teennagels lakte, ik ben witter dan mijn bleekbeige nude nagellak…niet goed….dan sta ik altijd voor een lastig dilemma, wel of niet onder de zonnebank? We weten nu allemaal wel dat UV stralen de boosdoeners zijn qua huidveroudering, maar van een paar melkflessen wordt ook niemand echt blij. Dus heb ik de oplossing gevonden, ik mag af en toe onder de zonnebank, maarrrrr ik gebruik dan wel een hoogwaardig bronzing product waardoor ik binnen korte tijd snel resultaat boek en dus het aantal minuten onder de zonnebank tot een minimum kan beperken. Last year, the manufacturer of my favorite cotton pads created a range of liquid cleansers. A cleansing milk, foaming cleansing gel and tonic with cottonplant extracts promise to gently cleanse your skin. The products smell really nice, especially the lotion has an effervescent scent. I tried these for a while and I think they are not that suitable for my dry skintype. I prefer a foaming product over a milk (I keep trying those milks but to me it does not feel clean :S) and the cleansing gel leaves my skin feeling it's a size to small for my face. I do think these can do the trick for less demanding skin types. I would also stay away from the eye area if your eyes are sensivite (I can tolerate only 3 cleansers for my eye make up, the demak'up pads, lancôme's bi-facil and Douglas frangipane eye make up remover, all the others...auch...). I will stick to my demak'up cotton pads and ready to use eye make up remover pads.

Demak'up is met stip mijn favo merk voor wattenschijfjes, sinds vorig jaar is er ook een lijn van vloeibare reinigingsproducten aan het assortiment toegevoegd. Deze lijn bestaat uit een reiniginsmelk, schuimende reinigingsgel en frisse tonic. De producten ruiken stuk voor stuk zalig en vooral de tonic heeft een hele lekkere opwekkende frisse geur. Ik heb de producten een tijdje gebruikt en vind ze heel fijn maar.....Ik gebruik liever een schuimende reiniging dan een milk (Ik blijf de milks stug proberen maar ben gewoon niet overtuigd...) en deze reinigingsgel is voor mijn vrij droge huid net niet voldoende, wat een trekkerig gevoel geeft. Mocht je een nogmaal tot vet huidtype hebben dan is dit product voor jou waarschijnlijk heel fijn. Ikzelf gebruik deze producten liever niet rondom de oogcontour, het prikte bij mij nogal (al heb ik dat probleem vaker, ik kan alleen tegen de demak'up eye remover pads, bi-facil van lancôme en de frangipane oogmake up remover van douglas, de rest..auwwww) dus dat is niet voor herhaling vatbaar. Deze producten zijn allemaal op basis van katoenblad en vriendelijk geprijsd. Ik hou het lekker bij de watjes en kant en klare pads van Demak'up :)

I got this shade from the Nicki Minaj collection, it's a black jelly with various sparkly glitters. I usually stay away from black shades, but this is the one I really wanted very bad. The glitter makes it fun! This is 2 coats.

Last week I did my first order on www.swarovski.com, (ships to 24 countries) not that there are no stores available here, but for most of them i have to drive for a while and shipping for orders over 75 euros is free so why not give it a try ;) I purchased the Intervalle bracelet on sale in navy blue. I just got a navy blue tube dress and this blue bracelet will go with any pair of jeans so I will wear this a lot :) The order was sent with UPS so you can track the order and the box was very well wrapped up together with all the documents. If I had unlimited budget I would order from Swarovski online all the time lol :)......Any sparkly goodies here that catch your eye? trust me this is only the tip of the iceberg, maybe a warning should be in order here because once you start you will definetely not be able to stop ;) Let's Check out some of the nice new items available.

Vorige week heb ik voor het eerst besteld via www.swarovski.com , niet dat er hier geen winkels zijn, maar die zijn toch allemaal een aardig stukje rijden en bestellingen boven de 75 euro worden gratis verzonden dus waarom niet? ;) Ik heb de Intervalle armband gekocht uit de sale in het marineblauw. Ik had pas een donkerblauw jurkje van supertrash gekocht en deze past ook erg leuk bij al mn donkerblauwe spijkerbroeken dussss zal ik deze mooie armband vaak dragen. De bestelling werd met UPS verzonden dus via de tracking kan je precies in de gaten houden waar je bestelling is, ook was alles erg netjes verpakt compleet met alle certificaten en documenten. Als ik een unlimited budget zou hebben zou ik continu al het moois van Swarovski shoppen via de website, maar voor nu moet ik het even met een verlanglijstje doen.... Zit er ook iets bij wat jou aandacht trekt? Misschien moet ik er maar een waarschuwing bij doen, want als je eenmaal begint kan je gewoonweg niet meer stoppen en dit is slechts het topje van de ijsberg....;) Kijk je mee naar het nieuwe moois?

SAG Awards red carpet report

This morning I was totally awake at 5 in the morning, so I made myself some tea and watched the Red Carpet report from the SAG awards I recorded on E!. Again, I was not overwhelmed (maybe all the glitters and gowns on the Kardasians just made me numb for all the red carpet prettiness...like a regular plant after the x-mas tree...something is missing... Here are some of my favorite dresses.
Vanmorgen was ik om 5 uur al klaarwakker, dus ben ik thee gaan zetten en ben de red carpet show van de SAG awards gaan kijken die ik had opgenomen. Net zoals bij de golden globes was ik niet overrompeld van al het moois...of zou het komen door alle glitter en glam waarmee de Kardashians E! channel overgooien zodat je al het moois op de rode loper maar saai vind....Net zoiets als de kamerplant na kerst...er mist toch iets.. I think the little things in life are what it is all about, my dogs curled up against me on the couch, a hot mug of tea with honey, or an unexpected 50% off all YSL make up in one of my favorite stores (Parfumerie eudydice in Valkenswaard with stunnung brands such as Koh, Kanebo, Parfums Rosy, Amouage, Trussardi) I got a mascara, peach gloss to match my essie a crewed interest nails and a bright pink lipstick because it is time for me to step out of my nude comfort zone. The only thing that I keep wondering about...why didn't I get more items?????

De kleine dingen in het leven zijn de redenen van geluk, mijn hondjes die lekker tegen me aan komen liggen op de bank, een warme kop thee met honing, of een onverwachte 50% sale op alle YSL make up bij een van mijn favo prafumerieën (Eurydice in Valkenswaard met hele mooie merken als Koh, Kabebo, amouage, Trussardi en Parfums Rosy en Honoré de pres) Ik heb een bruine mascara, een peachy lipgloss (voor bij Essie a crewed interest) en een felle roze lipstick gescoord, want het wordt tijd dat ik eens ophou met altijd maar nude lipsticks te dragen en dit is volgens mij wel een hele heftige manier om daarmee te stoppen lol :) Maar er is wel een vraag die me bezig blijft houden....waarom heb ik niet meer gekocht??????

My absolute favorite of the Essie spring collection is definetely A crewed interest, for weeks I have been searching for a pastel peach with not too strong orange tones and I found it! The first coat goes on a little sheer, so depending on the thickness of your coats you will need 2 to 3 coats. The polish is super shiny and I love the shade. These pics were taken after a day of wear, because by the time I did the mani sun was setting, these are taken in the morning sun so they could appear a little warmer than they are in real life. I did a comparison with Essie's Van d'Go and Orly cotton candy so you can see the difference in shades.

Mijn favoriet uit de lentecollectie van Essie is absoluut A crewed interest. Ik ben serieus al weken op zoek naar een echte pastel peach, zonder dat die te donker of oranje is en ik heb deze nu gevonden! De eerste laag is een beetje transparant, dus afhankelijk van hoe dik je de laagjes aanbrengt heb je er 2 á 3 nodig. De lak heeft een hoogglans en ik ben gewoon verliefd op deze kleur. Aangezien ik mijn nagels lakte toen de zon al onderging heb ik mijn nagels de volgende ochtend op de foto gezet, het zonlicht was vrij warm van kleur dus dat zie je ook op de foto's. Ik heb ook meteen een vergelijking gedaan met Orly cotton Candy en Essie van d'go zodat je duidelijk kunt zien wat voor een bijzinder kleurtje dit is.

Today was a grey and cloudy day so I did my best in finding the right light to really show these shades from their best sides. (swatching yoga is really hardcore lol) I hope the sun will come out this weekend so I can do full swatches in sunlight. All are 2 coats, maybe a crewed interest and to buy or not to buy needed a 3rd, they are on the sheer side.

Vandaag is het weer een heerlijke (bleeh) grijze bewolkte dag dus ik heb mijn best gedaan om de kleuren van hun beste kant te laten zien in het doffe licht. (swatch yoga is best heftig haha) Hier een voorproefje van de nieuwe Essie collectie, ik hoop dat er dit weekend wat zon komt dan maak ik de full swatches. Alle swatches zijn 2 laagjes al hadden a crewed interest en to buy or not to buy misschien wel een 3e kunnen hebben want die zijn niet zo heel dekkend.

This spring Collistar takes us to the island of Capri with bright fun shades. Here's an overview of all the products from this collection. I am most curious about:
The mascara (blue is so stunning, step out of your comfort zone and try a coloured mascara once, so much fun and the right shade will accentuate the colour of your eyes)
The Amber wearve blusher
The eyeliners (below I posted a picture of some of the collistar eyeliners, the pigmentation is perfection)
The bronzers ( I am a fan of their Antille mat bronzer)
The topgloss sticks in grenadine and cherry
And of course the polishes :) BUT there is one item missing from this collection, a light cream yellow limoncello shade of nailpolish. One of Capri's most well known products, delicious in the summer...but back to the collection, check out these fabulous items. This collection will be available from Februari.

Deze lente neemt Collistar ons mee naar het eiland Capri met vrolijke sprekende kleuren. Ik ben vooral benieuwd naar:
De blauwe mascara (blauw maakt mijn blauwe ogen groener grappig he, mocht je niet echt durven te kiezen voor een gekleurde mascara, probeer het dan toch gewoon eens, de juiste kleur kan je blik echt veel intenser maken, desnoods een keer zonder mascara naar een verkooppunt en gewoon eens proberen, wie weet ben je om ;);
De bronzers (ik ben al jaren verslaafd aan de collistar bronzer Antille mat)
De amber weave blush,
De eyeliners (zal een afbeelding van andere collistar eyeliners plaatsen als voorbeeld, de pigmentatie is ultiem);
De topgloss sticks in cherry en grenadine;
En uiteraard de nagellakjes, al mis ik een hele belangrijke kleur.....Capri is bekend om de Limoncello, een heerlijke citroenlikeur, dus een mooie lichtgele lak (liefst met subtiel shimmertje) had eigenlijk wel bij de kleuren moeten zitten, maar ik denk dat ik het toch te druk heb met de mintgroene lak op mijn nagels haha. Deze collectie zal vanaf februari verkrijgbaar zijn bij parfumerie en goed gesorteerde drogisterij (zoals mijn Da in Bergeijk ;)

this is another great example of the nice Orly formula and quality. Easy to apply and a lot of pigment power. Can't wait for their spring collection to come out :)

Deze kleur was helaas niet verkrijgbaar in Nederland en België, gelukkig bestaat er zoiets als swappen :) Dit is een voorbeeldje van de mooie kleuren die Orly maakt met een superfijne kwaliteitslak. Ben trouwens heel erg benieuwd naar de lentelook van Orly, maar daarvoor zal ik nog even geduld moeten hebben :).

The last week I did a lot of cosmetics shopping, here's the result :) (Ps this does not happen often lol) I also updated my wardrobe with some sale items, more about the fashion later this week :)

Shopping on the Internet can be very convenient, altough sometimes it takes a while before I actually try an online shop. This was my first experience with Douglas online shopping and I am happy I did order there, the package arrived soon, the gift wrapping looked cute and I got 2 samples I have chosen myself. This year's golden globes are a BIG disappointment for me and I am not talking about the nominees and winners, but the fashion :( Many mermaid dresses and lace, but somehow there were only few that got e excited. Here are my winners, hope the stylists saved up the good gowns for the oscars, because that should be the only excuse for this boring red carpet dress parade (SOS for all those dresses held hostage ;)

Alessandro created 10 new shades for spring 2012 and these 5ml bottles are great for splurging (why only take one???) I don't have any information on the finishes yet or the release date, so stay tuned for that. To make sure your hands look smooth and hydrated, they also created 4 new scents for the hands up! handcream.

Alessandro heeft voor de lente van 2012 weer 10 mooie nieuwe kleurtjes in de handige 5 ml flaconnetjes verpakt, ideaal dus om te zondigen en lekker een paar kleurtjes aan te schaffen :) Ik weet helaas nog niets over de finishes van de lakken of de release, maar zodra ik meer weet lees je dat uiteraard hier. Naast de lakken zal de hands up! handcrème ook in 4 nieuwe bloemengeuren verkrijgbaar zijn.

Yesterday the displays of the new Chanel and YSL collections were already in my local beautyshop, but the products were not available yet, so I did some quick swatches to make up my mind about the ones I want. For spring 2012 chanel created 3 new shades, April, May and June and I must admit, I don't find them anything special, so considering the price, I will skip these.

The YSL polishes did surprise me (altough...they had very stunning polishes in their last collections), especially the green shade looks a lot like the legendary Opi Creme de menthe. The YSL polishes are sold in 2 sets, one holding the green and a deep vampy almost black shade and the other contains a bubblegum pink and a vivid bright orange both with subtle shimmer. If your country has an online Douglas shop, you might be able to order them online there. I really like the YSL duo's so I might just splurge on those :) What do you think of these shades?

Gisteren stonden de displays van de nieuwe lentelooks van YSL en Chanel al in de parfumerie alleen de producten zelf waren er nog niet, dus reden te meer om ze eerst even te swatchen en dan rustig na te denken welke ik zal aanschaffen. Chanel komt met 3 nieuwe lakken, April, May en June en eerlijk is eerlijk, mij doen ze niet veel, dus die kan ik laten liggen.

De YSL lakken daarentegen waren een verassing (al moet ik zeggen dat YSL de laatste seizoenen hele sterke kleuren nagellak in de collecties had zitten), vooral de groene shimmer die volgens mij erg in de buurt komt van de legendarische Opi Creme de Menthe. De YSL lakken zitten per twee in een setje, het ene setje bevat de groene en een hele donkere bijna zwarte lak en het andere setje bevat een bubblegum roze en een heerlijke oranje, beiden met subtiele shimmer. Ik heb even snel op internet gekeken en de YSL look kan je ook online bij Douglas bestellen via www.douglas.nl ze rekenen geen verzendkosten en je kan altijd 2 leuke proefjes kiezen voor bij je bestelling. Ik heb vorige maand voor het eerst online bij ze besteld en ben erg tevreden, maar daarover een andere keer meer. Ben benieuwd wat jij van deze lentekleuren vind :)

I am currently only wearing cremes, but I liked wearing this,
maybe with carnaval this would make a great shade.

Dit is een leuke glitter in een wat bijzondere tint geel/goud.
De basis is een gelige jelly vol met kleine gouden en grote
zilveren glitters. Na de feestdagen ben ik de glitters
een beetje beu, maar dit zou een hele mooie zijn voor

this is simply one of the most beautiful polishes ever with an
amazing formula, most polishes like this are thin and runny,
this applied easy in 2 coats. This is a deep navy blue loaded
with blue and silver shimmers, this is a bright starry night for
your nails, too bad that they don't give the polishes names
but only a number, I would have named this 1001 arabian nights.

Dit is gewoonweg een van de mooiste lakken ooit en deze
lak werkt ook nog eens heel fijn, veel van dit type shimmers
zijn waterig en dun maar deze is compact en lakt heel fijn.
Dit zijn 2 laagjes, de kleur is een donkere marineblauw met
blauwe en zilveren shimmers, het is net een sterrenhemel.
Jammer dat ze bij pupa de lakken niet altijd namen geven,
ik had deze 1001 arabische nachten genoemd :)

Seriously guys, I am so over the voice of Holland, and now I have a huge crush on the Voice of Vlaanderen (The part of Belgium where they speak Dutch :) hosted by the fabulous Bombshell Ann Lemmens. Yesterday were the first battles, and damn....goosebumps serveral times and a couple of tears, this never happened to me with the Voice of Holland and I truly hope you will take the time to listen and I hope it will move you as much as it moved me. I take a deep bow for the coaches of the Belgian voice, their choice of music is awesome, unfortunately youtube has removed a video of a battle due to copyrights. ( A great battle featuring U2's miss Sarajevo BOO!) Otherwise I would have linked it here too. Please enjoy 9 crimes from Damien Rice performed by Ziggy and Mayke. (ps If I was the coach I would hide behind my chair instead of making a choice, that was bruttaly difficult...)

Serieus....Ik ben een beetje klaar met de Voice of Holland, maar wees gerust ik heb een nieuwe liefde, de voice van Vlaanderen, gepresenteerd door Ann Lemmens (ja die toffe bombshell van So you think you can dance :). Gisteren waren de eerste battles en jeetje....een paar keer kippenvel en bij deze battle zelfs tranen en dit is me bij de Voice of Holland nog nooit gebeurt, complimenten ook aan de coaches van de Voice van Vlaanderen voor de nummerkeuzes, helaas is een battle van U2's miss Sarajevo wegens auteursrechten al van Youtibe verwijderd (BOE!) anders had ik die hier ook ff bij gezet. Maar ze kiezen echt briljante nummers, stukken beter dan de uitgekouwde mierzoete ballads waar rtl4 de kijker graag mee lastigvalt. Chapeau voor de Voice of Vlaanderen, Belgium you are stealing my heart away! Geniet van 9 crimes van Damien Rice gezongen door Ziggy en Mayke. (als ik coach was geweest had ik weggerend in plaats van een keuze te maken....lastig programma maar dit was een legendarisch optreden).

The Disney characters are known for their solid style and never changing wardrobe, well that's about to come to an end. Tommy Hilfiger designed some very sleek classic Hilfiger outfits for some of Disney's most loved characters and they look fabulous. This spring there are 6 tees for adults and several items for children (why don't I fit in a child's size grrr) all featuring Disney characters in their new smart looks. Items will be available from Februari 2012. Here's a little preview :)

I read about the glossybox online and got really curious, so I subscribed to it and waited patiently for the first box to arrive. On the pictures you can see what I found in the box, I am really happy with the glamour queen hairspray (fresh fruity pear scent), the dermalogica scrub (I was actually shopping for a new exfoliant) and the miniature koh handcream. The idea of glossybox is signing up and for a small amount you will recieve a box filled with products every month. After trying the products you can go online and fill in a feedback form for points and save up for a free glossybox. This is 2 coats of peachy parrot in artificial light
(only clouds that day..) and I already read a lot about this shades
and the brushstrokes, but in my opinion it is not so bad, just a nice
frosted blushing peach, nothing wrong with this shade :)

Dit zijn 2 laagjes van Peachy Parrot in kunstlicht, ik had al veel
over deze lak gelezen en met name over de strepen, (wat veel
voorkomt bij lakken met een frost finish) maar het viel me
ontzettend mee. Dit is gewoon een hele mooie warme perziktint
niks mis mee :)

It is a good thing that this collection will be released in februari, gives me some time to save up, because i want all the item market with * (lol...a lot....) Of course a good look begins with an even complexion, have you tried Pupa's luminys touch yet??? I am a totall addict of this product and I even have a spare one in my car lol. The Pupa luminys silk eyeshadow even beats mac at the eyeshadow game. This is just such a fab brand :) Ps the inspiration from this collection was a runway show with a collection of jeans combined with silk and lace...this will be a romantic and delicately seductive spring :)

Het is maar goed dat deze collectie pas in februari in de winkels ligt, dat geeft mij nog wat tijd om te sparen want ik wil alle items met een * (lol, veel dus....) Uiteraard begint een goede look bij een effen teint, heb jij de Luminys touch van Pupa al geprobeerd???? Ik ben er helemaal verslaafd aan, heb zelfs een reserve exemplaar in de auto liggen haha. Trouwens, de luminys silk eyeshadow is een echte topper, naar mijn mening zelfs beter dan de eyeshadows van mac. Dit is een heerlijk merk waar ik helemaal blij van wordt. Ps de inspiratie voor deze collectie komt van de catwalk, namelijk een collectie van jeans gecombineerd met kant en zijde, het wordt een romantische maar toch verleidelijke lente als het aan Pupa ligt ;)

Unfortunately the sun disappeared by the time i wanted to take
pictures of this one and that is a bad thing because this is
so fabulous in direct sunlight. I did not like this at first, but once on
my nails I fell in love. You know I am not a red polish girl, but
with the holo glitters this is seriously stunning!

This blurry pic really shows the holo glitters, I will redo these
swatches if the sun comes out again, hopefully this year :S

I got these back in August but they are pretty and I paid less than
90 euros for these 2 pairs, they had quite a sale going on at the end
of the season and I was so lucky that they had my size :) These

have quite a heel.

I was so curious about these shades that I drove to my local collistar retailer and did some swatches of the design glosses. These glosses are highly pigmented and guarantee some bold colored and shiny lips. I am not sure if I am brave enough to wear these (my lips are full so with bold gloss or lipstick they are so present) but they sure are unique. Would you wear statement glosses like these? I do love collistar for creating bold and bright shades like these.

Ik was zoooo nieusgierig naar deze kleuren dat ik even snel naar een collistar verkooppunt in de buurt ben gereden (wat is 11 km lol) en heb meteen even swatches gemaakt. Deze glossen zijn zeer gepigmenteerd en je steelt gegarandeerd de show met een van deze kleuren op je lippen. Maar ik weet nog niet of ik dapper genoeg ben om ze te dragen (van opvallende lipstick op gloss krijg ik altijd een plastic bekkie volgens een oud collega haha, ga dan hele rare mondjes trekken) maar dit zijn wel hele unieke glossjes. Zou jij zulke kleurtjes dragen? Ik vind het wel heerlijk dat er een merk is die zulke heftige kleuren creërt.

I love to play with colors and textures, here's a combination of Pupa matt blackjack and Opi's mad as a hatter. I was considering finishing it with a shiny or matt topcoat but I actually like the contrast. Have a lovely sunday!

Ik vind het errug leuk om met kleuren en texturen te spelen, hier is een combinatie van Pupa's matt blackjack en Opi's mad as a hatter. Ik heb nog even overwogen om het af te maken met een laagje matte of glanzende topcoat, maar ik vond het contrast tussen mat en glitter eigenlijk wel leuk. Fijne zondag!

Essie Luxeffects shine of the Tides layered 8x

Here's Essie shine of the Tides layered, I randomly picked 8 different shades for this experiment, some combinations work better than others, maybe I have to try this over some greens, like Opi's mermaid tears, Essie's greenport or even Misa dirty sexy money because in some lights the flakies turn green. For now here are 8 layering combinations :) To be brutally honest, I like it best solo, but perhaps I can also try this on top of a shimmery white...hmmm interesting idea...I am just more a creme girl, I am smitten with the Cocktail bling collection, such elegant cremes. But back to shine of the times, the most stunning effect is created with either very dark base colors or very neutral ones I guess (whites, nudes)

Hier zijn de swatches met Shine of the tides als topping, ik heb 8 kleuren uit mijn stash getrokken voor dit experiment, en sommige combinaties zijn beter geslaagd dan andere. Nu ik ze zo bekijk is het jammer dat er geen groen a la Opi's Mermaid tears, Essie Greenport of Misa Dirty sexy money tussen zat, want soms hebben de flakies een groene gloed, dus dat had best kunnen werken. Voor nu eventjes deze 8 combinaties :) Ikzelf ben hier niet echt helemaal weg van, ik ben gewoon into de cremes. Misschien moet ik het nog eens proberen met een witte shimmer als basis...mmmm interessant idee....Ik denk wel dat je het mooiste effect bereike met ofwel hele donkere basiskleuren of hele neutrale (wit. nude).

Zoya Kimmy vs Orly Emberstone

I was wondering if Zoya Kimmy and Orly emberstone are dupes but I could not find a comparison anywhere, so I purchased emberstone and did the comparison. Both Emberstone and Kimmy are red multishimmers with red and gold shimmers, BUT Emberstone also has some pink shimmers which gives the polish a cooler feel than the warm red Kimmy, plus emberstone looks a little more coral too me. So they are not dupes, do you need both? I will leave that up to you ;) You can click the images for enlarged view.

Ik vroeg me al een tijdje af of Zoya Kimmy en Orly Emberstone dupes zijn, maar ik kon nergens een vergelijking vinden dus heb ik Emberstone snel gekocht om het even uit te zoeken. Emberstone en Kimmy zijn beide rode multishimmers met gouden en rode shimmers, Maarrrrr.... In emberstone zitten ook roze deeltjes en dit geeft deze lak een iets koelere uitstraling dan de warmrode Kimmy. Emberstone neigt ook iets meer naar koraal. Het zijn dus geen exacte dupes, maar heb je ze allebei nodig? Dat laat ik aan jou over ;) Je kan op de afbeeldingen klikken voor een vergrote weergave.

ls je nog nooit een pupa oogschaduw hebt gebruikt, dan zou ik
dat nu zeker doen, deze mooie oogschaduws die zowel nat als
droog te gebruiken zijn zijn nu tijdelijk verkrijgbaar voor
€10.00 ipv €15.95. De taupe, candy pink en emerald green zijn
voor mij echt onmisbare kleuren. De donkergroene emerald is
een echte diepe donkergroene shimmer, heel erg mooi bij
grijs/groen/blauwe ogen, het groen laat mijn ogen blauwer lijken.
Ik was voorheen altijd gek op mac eyeshadows, maar die laat
ik steeds vaker links liggen voor deze van Pupa.

If you never tried Pupa eyeshadows you really should, the
quality is awesome and this satin finish product can be used
wet and dry. The taupe, candy pink and emerald green are my must have shades.
The deep dark emerald green is a great shade to make my
green/grey/blue eyes look really blue. I used to love mac eyeshadows,
but I buy less of those and more Pupa's at this time.

Pupa Luminys touch
Dit is mijn nieuwe lieveling in mijn toilettas, de luminys touch is
een hele fijne highlighter die je gezicht meteen opfrist en
zorgt voor een wakkere blik. Dit product zorgt ervoor dat het licht
wordt weekaatst zodat imperfecties verdwijnen. Ik ben nooit
fan geweest van de Touche eclat van YSL (ben er te gierig voor lol)
maar de luminys touch kost de helft van de touche eclat en is minstens
even goed, nog een bonus, er zit net iets meer inhoud in
(YSL touche eclat bevat 2,5 ml en de luminys touch 2,8 ml)

This is my new favorite toy in my make up bag :) The luminys touch is a great
highlighter that wakes your face up in an instant. The luminys touch reflects
the light so imperfections disappear. I have never been into the touche eclat
from YSL (The pricetag scares me off) but the Pupa is only half the price
of the YSL and the quality is perfect. (I did compare them) another plus,
the Pupa has more content.

My ultimate Opi Red

this red from Opi has lasted 6 days on my nails, It is a stunning deep red with shimmer and perfect for a sophisticated red nail. This is not an in your face red but it is chic, elegant and very glamorous. This is 2 smooth coats of Opi's I'm not really a waitress. I wish the red Karen Millen dress was this type of red :)

Deze rode lak van Opi heeft het maar liefst 6 dagen volgehouden op mijn nagels, een absoluut record. Het is een dieprode shimmer, dit is geen schreeuwerig rood, maar meer chic, elegant en behoorlijk glamorous. Dit zijn 2 snelle laagjes van Opi's I'm not really a waitress. Was het rode Karen Millen jurkje maar deze tint rood :)

The Carisma collection from Collistar did not only offer fabulous nailpolishes, but also some great lipsticks, I got 2 out of 4. The other 2 shades are cognac, a rich brown and violet a daring vampy purple.I have worn bwown too much (with lipliner helllooo '90's lol) and the purple is too much me. So I purchased pomegranate, a bright red and amaretto, (what else) great nude beige :) (can't help it those nudes just call my name as soon as I approach a display) First pic is bare lips so you can see the difference.

De Carisma collectie van Collistar biedt naast de mooie nagellakken ook een paar hele mooie lipsticks. Ik heb 2 van de 4 kleuren gekocht, de andere 2, cognac (mooi warmbuin) en violet (vampy paars) stonden mij niet zo aan, ik heb jarenlang bruine lipstick gedragen (met lipliner helllooooo jaren '90 lol) en de paarse is nog even te heftig voor mij , het is al heel dapper dat ik de rode heb gekocht ;) Dus uiteindelijk gingen Pomegranate (felrood) en Amaretto (prachtig nude beige, kan er niks aan doen zodra ik een display nader roepen de nudetinten mij....) Kerst komt steeds dichterbij, tijd voor een overzichtje van Opi's Muppetcollectie voor de feestdagen. Er zitten best veel foto's in dit bericht, dus lees verder na lees meer :)

Opi Wocka Wocka
warm red with subtle shimmer, you need a topcoat to bring out the
shimmer in this one. But this is a great red shade. 2 coats.

Warmrode shimmer, je hebt wel een topcoat nodig om de
shimmer naar voren te halen, maar dit is wel een hele mooie
rode tint. 2 laagjes.

Bijschrift toevoegen

Opi Meep meep meep
This was not at all what I expected, I was thinking this would be
similar to a last year's Burlesque polish but the particles in this
polishes are larger and way more outspoken, Opi should do
a blue/turqouise in this formula. 2 coats of warm fuchsia
with hints of gold. Love this!

Dit is totaal niet wat ik van deze lak verwachtte, ik vermoedde dat
deze kleur erg vergelijkbaar zou zijn met een lak uit de
Burlesque collectie van vorig jaar, maar deze deeltjes zijn veel

This is a type of shade that is different on every skintone, to me it
is a warm caramel with silver and pinkish shimmers. This is 2 coats.

Dit is nou een kleur die er bij iedereen heel anders uitziet, bij mij
is het een warme carameltint met roze en zilveren shimmertjes.

Opi Excuse Moi?
The unexpected winner of this collection, I totally did not expect to
like this and this is my favorite of the collection. Excuse moi is a
pink jelly with multi coloured glitters, this is a Party in a bottle!
2 coats.

De overwachte winnaar van deze collectie, in de eerste istantie
vond ik dit helemaal niks, maar eenmaal op de nagel is
deze roze jelly met multicolor glitter gewoonweg een lak
waar ik hel erg blij van word! Deze lak is een feestje in een flesje :)

Opi Designer the better
Silver and Orange foil, stunning result but make sure to take your
time to remove this, this is like removing a glitter polish, not a
huge problem, but make sure you have enough time, patience and
of course a good quality nailpolishremover. 2 coats.

Zilveren foil met oranje/bronzen deeltjes, geweldig resultaat maar
neem de tijd als je deze lak gaat verwijderen, deze is net
zo hardnekkig als een glitterlak, maar met voldoende
tijd, geduld en een goede nagellakremover kom je een heel eind :)
2 laagjes.

Large red and silver glitters, I think a full glitter mani is a bit too
much for me, so I only did a gradient.

Holiday gift inspiration part I

Here's some inspiration for the holiday season, I love living in the country surrounded by woods and nature, but some shops require a long drive, so all these items are available online, isn't that convenient ;) Some stores only ship to the Netherlands and Belgium but most items are available in regular department stores, drugstores and salons. Today's theme is Nude. PS I have a couple more of these type of posts coming up, do you want me to include the prices or not? Of course prices can differ from country to country, so please let me know what you think :)

Hier wat inspiratie voor de feestdagen, ik woon heerlijk rustig omgeven door bossen en natuur, maar een groot nadeel is dat ik voor sommige winkels best eventjes moet rijden, daarom voor het gemak, allemaal online verkrijgbare items, vandaag in het thema Nude. A stunning black matte polish with great formula. I will make pics
of this with topcoat soon because it looks like there is a little
shimmer here waiting to be discovered :)

Een hele mooie matte zwarte lak die zonder moeite lakt, ik zal
deze week ook eens foto's maken van deze lak met een laagje
topcoat want volgens mij zit er een shimmer in die ontdekt wil
worden :)

Pupa 908 Royal Flush Pearly grey
Deep grey, this is more pearl finish than metallic, very beautiful.

Diepgrijze lak met een finish die eerder pearl is dan metallic,
erg mooi en net weer even anders dan de meeste donkergrijze
lakken.

I took these pics in the summer but never posted these, not a clue why..now that I see these pictures I really miss summer...I see the beauty of fall going into winter and LOVE X-mas but I am still a summer person :) This was 2 effortless coats and it almost looks like I edited the color (trust me I never do that I don't even know how lol) but this polish is as bright as the picture shows. This is summertime in a bottle, a blessing on grey dull days :)
