Essie raise awareness 2011 Breast Cancer Awareness Nail Colour

This years pink shade from Essie turned out to be a little different than I expected, this looked like just another sheer pink in the promo pictures, but once on the nail it is a fabulous candy pink creme! This is 2 coats of pink prettyness, let's check out the pictures :)

Of coure it is great that October is meant to raise extra awareness about breast cancer, but make sure you check your boobs not only in October but thoughout the year :)

Koh! Metallic green a mint green holo

One of Koh's permanent polishes is Metallic green, a mint green holo. I am going to be brutally honest, the formula is a tragedy, but with patience you can get very far. The formula drags if you are not careful, so don't work with this in a hurry. Once on the nail it is worth the trouble because I am not a holo lover, but this is a spectaculair shade. Even indoors this one is stunning (most holos go flat indoors). This is 2-3 coats, no topcoat. I wish they did more shades like this, a baby blue and baby pink holo would be awesome.

Een van de meest bijzondere kleuren uit de permanente collectie van Koh! is Metallic green, een mintgroene holo. Ik ga heel eerlijk zijn, de formule is een drama, als je te snel doorlakt trek je alle lak weer van je nagel af, dus geduld is een vereiste bij deze lak. Eenmaal op de nagel is deze kleur wel alle moeite en frustratie waard, ik ben geen holo liefhebster, maar deze kleur is zelfs binnen prachtig (de meeste holo's worden saai als er geen zonlicht of kunstlicht is). dit zijn 2 a 3 laagjes, geen topcoat. Ondanks de formule zouden ze bij Koh! best een babyroze en babyblauwe holo mogen toevoegen aan het assortiment :)

Essence blue addicted & You belong to me swatches

Essence 78 Blue Addicted


Blue addicted is a blue jelly with fine blue glitter and larger pieces of
blue and green hexagonal glitter. This does remind me of
Lipmanns across the universe, but I don't own that one so I can't
compare them :( Nevertheless, this an amazing shade of polish.
This is 2 coats and the glitter spreads up evenly without trouble. 

Blue addicted is een blauwe jelly met fijne blauwe glitters en grotere
zeshoekige groene en blauwe glitters. Hij doet me heel erg
denken aan Deborah Lipmann's across the universe, maar die
heb ik helaas niet in mijn bezit dus ik kan niet vergelijken. Dit is hoe
dan ook een heel spectaculair lakje! Dit zijn 2 laagjes en de glitter
verspreid zich mooi egaal over de nagel.

You belong to me is a perfect minty green opaque creme. This is 2
coats, this is pure mint perfection :)

You belong to me is een dekkende mintgroene cremelak, dit is
het perfecte mintgroen in 2 laagjes :)

Misa surreal escape winter 2011/2012 beyond infinity & phazers on stunning swatches

I got 2 shades from Misa's Surreal escape winter collection. Beyond infinity is a grey metallic leaning towards blue and Phazers on stunning, well there's a lot going on there lol :) Phazers on stunning is a green/bronze duochrome with glitters, reminds me of a cloud of stars, I get the surreal theme of this collection ;) Let's have a closer look to these 2 polishes.

Ik heb 2 lakken van Misa's wintercollectie surreal escape. Beyond infinity is een mooie donkergrijze metallic die een beetje naar blauw neigt en Phazers on stunning...tja waar zal ik eens beginnen...lol. Phazers on stunning is een groen/bronzen duochrome met glitters, doet me denken aan een bundel sterren in een nevel, ik snap het surreële thema van deze collectie :) Laten we eens naar de lakken kijken :)

I recommend layering it over an opaque olive green, I am going
to try it over CG Peace on earth.

Have you purchased any polishes from the surreal escape collection? The day before yesterday the sky was so bright at night. I always take the dogs for a peepee in the garden before they go to bed and while they were sniffing and doing their business I was staring at the sky and looking at the stars when I saw a shooting star. The Universe is so beautiful and moments like that really make me feel grateful. The small things in life are the icing on the cake ;)Have a great weekend!

Heb jij al iets van deze collectie in je bezit? Eergister liet ik de hondjes nog even een plas doen in de tuin (standaard voordat ze naar bedje gaan :) en terwijl ze druk aan het snuffelen waren keek ik naar de heldere hemel vol sterren. Ineens zag ik een vallende ster, zo mooi en bijzonder, het universum is iets heel moois, ik koester zulke bijzondere momenten echt, het zijn de kleine dingen die geluk brengen ;) Fijn weekend!

Essie Nice is nice vs Jingle Jangle

when I was stashing my new polishes I noticed how much nice is nice and jingle jangle looked like eachother in the bottle. Well my dear friends, this is proof you can never ever judge a polish just from looking at the bottle. Sure you can label them both as lavender but they sure are different, let's have a closer look....

Toen ik mijn nieuwe lakken aan het opruimen was zag ik dat Jingle jangle en Nice is Nice wel heel erg op elkaar leken in het flesje. Nou darlings, dit is dus het bewijs dat je een lak nooit enkel op het flesje kan beoordelen, tuurlijk het zijn 2 lila lakken maar daar houdt het ook echt op. Kijk mee en oordeel zelf :)

ps how often do you check your breasts? I check them weekly preferrably under the shower with some showercream so i can feel possible bumps better with my fingertips, if freaks me out every time but it is better to discover changes in an early stage than too late.

Think Pink this October! ps hoe vaak check jij je borsten? Hoe beter je ze in de gaten houd hoe sneller je veranderingen opmerkt. Ik check ze wekelijks onder het douchen met een douchecreme en vingertoppen en ben elke keer bang dat ik wat tegenkom, maar je kan het maar beter op tijd weten dan te laat ;)
 

Mavala Amsterdam swatches

Mavala Amsterdam is a superbright deep orange shade, of course orange represents the Netherlands (last name of the Royal family is Van Oranje (van Orange)) but I think this shade also represents the energy of the city, vibrant and energetic. This is 2 coats of a fabulous formula.

Mavala Amsterdam is een superknallende oranje lak, natuurlijk hoort oranje bij een Nederlandse lak, maar ik denk dat deze kleur ook wel heel goed bij de energieke levendige stad Amsterdam hoort. Dit zijn 2 laagjes met de superfijne Mavala lak.

Gosh new polishes for Fall 2011

Gosh has 8 new shades for fall 2011, these shades are available now in the Netherlands at Kruidvat drugstores. I really love the Gosh polishes, their formula is perfect and also a big plus, their products are cruelty free :)

Gosh brengt voor de herfst 8 nieuwe lakken, deze kleuren zijn nu exclusief verkrijgbaar bij het kruidvat.
De Gosh nagellakken zijn heel fijn in gebruik en een groot pluspunt van dit leuke merk is dat het cruelty free is. Dat wordt vanmiddag even een bezoekje aan het kruidvat :)

Zoya Drew is my new favorite Zoya polish, this is 2 coats of this gorgeous dusty fuchsia pink shimmer.

Zoya drew is mijn nieuwe favoriete Zoya lak, dit zijn 2 laagjes van deze prachtige oudroze fuchsia met shimmer.

Orly gilded Coral

Shame on me that I waited so long to show you this great Orly shade. This was part of the precious collection for spring 2011 and I think this is the polish I have worn the most this year. It goes with everything, is subtle but still sparkly and glowy, this one has it all :) This is 2 coats, no topcoat. I am really curious about the upcoming Orly collections, especially the mineral fx collection....oh well in the meanwhile I keep wearing this beauty.

Ik schaam me diep dat ik deze kleur niet eerder aan je heb laten zien, dit is echt een fantastische kleur van Orly, subtiel maar toch glinsterend en warm. Dit was een lak uit de zomercollectie van 2011 en ik denk dat ik deze lak het meest gedragen heb dit jaar, een hele prestatie. Dit zijn 2 laagjes, geen topcoat. Ik ben zoooo benieuwd naar de nieuwe Orly collecties, vooral de mineral FX, ach geduld is een schone zaak en tijdens het wachten draag ik deze mooie lak ;)
