Essie Resort 2011: Your hut or mine swatches & review

The theme of this years resort collection is a different resort break than last year :-) In 2011 Essie took us to a platinum caribbean beach with lots of grenadine, in the lap of luxury. This year we are on a trip to the bush, surrounded by Lions and game sleeping in a comfortable hut. Your hut or mine is a soft coral pink or pink coral (it's too soft and warm for a regular pink....) with pink light purple and golden shimmer. Hard to define but absolutely gorgeous. The formula is wonderfull and the shade is just...you know what? This is the shade of a summer evening sky, when the sky turns somewhere between orange and pink, so in case of a rainy day and grey sky, fix yourself a drink, sit back and look at your gorgeous nails! :-) this is 2 coats, no topcoat by the way . Enjoy! I am going to fix myself an iced cappuccino yum!

Het thema van de resort collectie is dit jaar een heel ander verhaal dan vorig jaar. In 2010 vertrokken we met Essie naar een platinum caribbean strand met veel grenadine in de lap of luxury. Dit jaar zitten we in de bush, omringd door lions en game (wild) en slapen we in een hut :-) Your hut or mine is een zachte koraalroze of rozekoraaltint (het is geen standaard roze, het is een hele warme tint) met roze, gouden en lichtpaarse shimmer. Lastig te omschrijven maar wel errug mooi. De formule van deze lak is super en ..weet je, ineens heb ik het, dit is gewoon de kleur van de lucht als de zon bijna onder is. Ergens tussen oranje en roze, heel warm en mooi. Dus mocht het regenen en blokkeren grijze wolken de zonsondergang, maak een lekker drankje, ga lekker zitten en geniet van je nagels in plaats van de zonsondergang lol :-) Voor ik het vergeet....dit zijn 2 laagjes, geen topcoat. Ik ga aan de iced cappuccino yum! Enjoy!

This bright green shimmer will lift your spirits. This shade applies easy peasy in 2 coats  and gives you happy summer nails, please click on the images for enlarged view. Hmmm lemons, this shade is more lemon/lime but I really feel like making lemonbars now....This is the last of the giveaway swatches so more about that giveaway this week (finally...... :-S ) Have a wonderfull day!

Zeg nou eens eerlijk wordt je niet vrolijk van de naam van deze lak? Mocht de naam niet voldoende zijn dan wordt je vast blij van deze vrolijke groene shimmerlak. Summer of blues: Zoya Phoebe swatches & review

This summer is all about blue, there are a lot of awesome blue shades to choose from. One excellent choice is Zoya Phoebe, a matte blue shimmer which is stunning with and without topcoat. It applied quite easy for a matte and dried really fast. This is 2 coats of Phoebe. I am so in love with this color, it's the perfect shade of blue for the matte shimmer.

Deze zomer draait om blauw, er zijn ontzettend veel mooie blauwe tinten om uit te kiezen en dit is een hele goeie. Zoya Phoebe is een matte blauwe shimmer die zowel mat als met topcoat de show steelt. De lak bracht best makkelijk aan wat bijzonder is voor een matte lak en droogde lekker vlot. Dit zijn 2 laagjes Phoebe. Dit is nu al een van mijn favorieten voor de zomer, ik ben echt gek van blauw en dit is precies de juiste tint voor het bijzondere matte effect.

My trip to Eurodisney part 2

Last night I was home alone so I curled up on the couch with my dachshies and watched The Princess and the frog, man that movie makes me cry every single time, can't get enough of it! Here are some more pictures of my trip to Disneyland resort Paris with my little sister Jill. A few weeks ago I also did a poll about your favorite Disney hero. There was no absolute winner, 3 men got 1st place,  Eric, the beast and John Smith share that honor :-) Now which one is my favorite??? Well I do have my own prince Philip aka Ulan the Dachshund, sometimes he is allowed to sleep in bed with the mama (shhhht don't tell the papa) and in the morning he always wakes me up like sleeping beauty haha, a big Uli kiss to start the day, it can't get any better! But my current favorite Disney hero still is Hercules, sweet and clumsy as a teen boy and a true hero as a man :-) Which movie shall I watch today???.......Have a lovely weekend!!!

Gisteravond was ik home alone dus ben ik lekker met mijn teckels op de bank gekropen met de kikkerprinses in de dvd speler. Ik moet echt elke keer huilen als ik die film zie, en ik kan er geen genoeg van krijgen, ik blijf m kijken. Hier zijn nog een paar foto's van mijn trip naar Eurodisney met mijn zusje Jill. Een tijdje terug stond er ook een poll online over jullie favo Disney held, het werd een gedeelde eerste plaats voor Erik, het beest en John Smith. Wie is nou mijn favoriete held? Ik heb er eentje in het echt, een prins Philip aka Ulan de teckel die heeel soms stiekem in bed mag slapen en smorgens word ik dan altijd als doornroosje wakker, mijn dag begint dan met een kusje van Ulan hahaha :) Maar mijn favoriete Disney man is toch wel Hercules, lief en klunzig als tiener en een held als man. Welke Disney film zal ik vandaag eens opzetten????  Maak er een gezellig en knus weekend van!

Zoya Summertime and sunshine skittle swatches

I am always looking forward to all the summer collections since I have a soft spot for cheery bright colors, I always have to warm up more to the darker shades.....Here are the skittle swatches of the Zoya summertime and sunshine polishes I purchased from these collections. Some shades are not in my comfort zone and that's why I got them ( yes the purples) and I am currently rockin Kieko on my tips and I never imagined myself liking it this much! All these are 2 coats. I also got Phoebe, but I made seperate swatches of that blue beauty so I will show you that one this weekend :-) What is your favorite of these collections??? My favorites is Apple for sure :-)

Ik kijk altijd uit naar de zomercollecties want ik heb nou eemnaal een zwak voor vrolijke felle kleuren. Ik moet altijd ontzettend wennen aan de donkere tinten die meestal in de hersft en winter uitkomen....Hier zijn vast de skittle swatches van de Zoya lakken die ik gekocht heb. Phoebe zat daar ook bij maar die laat ik je dit weekend apart even zien. Sommige van de lakken die ik gekocht heb zitten niet in mijn comfort zone (juist..de paarse) maar ik heb nu Kieko op mijn nagels en ben blij verrast door dit leuke kleurtje! Heb jij al een favoriet uit deze collecties??? Mijn topfavoriet is absoluut Apple :-)

Mavala Touch of provence swatches & review

When I think of the provence I think of lavender, and this
shimmery lavender shade is a very chic shade, Oh la la :) 
The mavalaformula is beyons excellent, I really love these
polishes.This is 2 coats, no topcoat. This is the most demur
 colorof the Art color collection, but I think it is really nice
to have a more subtle choice of color too. Swatches
of the other polishes from this bright collection are
coming soon :)

Als ik aan de provence denk denk ik aan de geur van
lavendel, en deze lavendelkleurige lak met shimmer is echt
chic! O la la :) De Mavala lakken zijn van een
uitstekende kwaliteit, ik werk er echt heel erg graag mee.
dit zijn 2 laagjes zonder topcoat. Dit is de meest
bescheiden kleur uit de Art color collectie, maar het
is wel fijn om naast de knalkleuren ook een wat
rustiger tintje te hebben, dan kan je het eens
afwisselen. De swatches van de andere kleuren volgen snel.



Maybe the color does not really show in this dark picture,
but the beautiful shimmer shows.

Misschien is de kleur niet heel duidelijk op deze donkere foto
maar de shimmer is zo mooi te zien.



Warning, when you buy a Mavala it is really hard not to get
more than one ;-) I got touch of Provence and Moon grey &

WIC Marocco collection: Essaouira swatches & review

Essaouira is a tranquil green creme which applies like a dream. The 7ml bottle will fit in every beautycase because this is a summer holiday must have polish. This is a brighter jade green than mermaid tears which is a little dustier. Wic is available at authorized retailers and online at Herôme's online shop.

Sometimes you just need something sweet to cheer you up and a good way to do that
is by spoiling yourself with some high end pasty or chocolates. My new favorite adress
is patisserie de rouw in Vught. I know all the good ones in Amsterdam, but I got bored
with those, so I needed something new and unknown to discover :-)
I tried their Florentines and king size macarons.....oooooh my! But I am not allowed to pig out on these delicious treats, I can have one of each every day and one is satisfying. The florentines are nuts and cherries in honey and chocolate and will make you close your eyes and go to pastryheaven for a little while. The macarons are just as delicious, the problem is...which one will you try first :-) Have a great weekend!

Soms heb je iets zoets nodig om jezelf even op te vrolijken/trakteren en een hele goede manier om dat te doen is met de heerlijkheden van Patisserie de rouw in Vught. Mijn nieuwe lievelingsadresje voor zoete verwennerijen. Ik ken het complete assortiment van de Amsterdamse patisseriën onderhand wel uit mijn hoofd, dus ik was echt toe aan iets nieuws. Ik heb mezelf getrakteerd op de florentines en macarons en wauw......Maar ik schrok alles niet meteen naar binnen, dit is een echte traktatie hier moet je van genieten, ik mag er een van elk per dag en geloof me, eentje is echt bevredigend :-) Florentines zijn kleine feestjes van noten, gekonfijte kersen, honing en chocolade, neem een hap en je bent even in de patisseriehemel. De macarons zijn heerlijk alleen een probleem....welke smaak ga je eerst proberen ;-) Fijn weekend allemaal!

Gek op watjes! deel1

Demak'up, bekend van DE watjes onder de watjes ;-) heeft het assortiment onlangs
vernieuwd en verbeterd en ik ben een van de gelukkige dames die dat mocht uitproberen :-) Zolang als ik me kan herinneren hangt er een rol demak'up wattenschijfjes in de badkamer van mijn moeder, zelfs op vakantie naar de camping in Italië was die rol een constante factor. Dit jaar ga ik met mijn echtgenoot en stiefkindjes naar diezelfde camping (na 17 jaar.....heel erg spannend) en de rol wattenschijfjes gaat uiteraard mee, maar krijgt ook versterking van een aantal andere reisvriendelijke producten die het beautyritueel op vakantie aangenaam zullen versnellen.

Laat ik beginnen met eerlijk zijn, ik ben lui, heel erg lui en s'avonds uitgebreid alle make up weghalen
en reinigen wil ik nog wel eens overslaan, nu hoef ik me daar niet meer schuldig over te voelen
want demak'up biedt 3 fantastische oplossingen.

Oogmake-up reiniger pads
een praktische pot met 30 wattenschijfjes kant en klaar met lotion, ik heb de proef op de som genomen en dit product maakt net zo effectief je ogen schoon als een los wattenschijfje met 2 fasen oogreinigingslotion. De lotion laat geen waas achter en prikt ook niet (ik ben heel lastig en vind bijna alle merken prikken behalve bi facil van lancôme, dus mijn portemonnaie is demak'up erg dankbaar :-) dus deze pot gaat zeker mee op vakantie, denk dat ik er ook meteen een in de badkamer en langs bed zet (mocht ik te lui zijn om naar de badkamer te lopen maak ik mijn ogen gewoon in bed schoon lol :-)

Douceur coton reinigingsdoekjes gezicht en ogen
Bevat reinigingsmelk en is zelfs geschikt voor waterproof make-up. De doekjes zijn zelfs geschikt voor een droge en gevoelige huid en zijn heerlijk fris. Ideaal ook voor in het vliegtuig als snelle opfrisser voor gezicht hals en handen.

Deze doekjes zijn verrijkt met een reiniginslotion om je huid van make-up en vuil te ontdoen. Op de laatste foto heb ik mijn oogmake-up ( mac beauty marked, zwart oogpotlood lancôme en flink wat lagen mascara diorshow extase) met deze doekjes schoongemaakt en het resultaat mag er zijn vind je niet? Ook deze doekjes zijn heel erg fijn om mee op reis te nemen of als je zoals ik dagelijks een grote tas met je meezeult, ze gewoon altijd in je tas te hebben. Tijdens het weekend disney waren deze doekjes een zegening, (dus ze zijn ook erg pretpark proof ;-) bij een snelle tussenstop op de hotelkamer wil je je wel opfrissen, maar om nou meteen te douchen is ook meteen zoveel gedoe nietwaar? Dus even snel een doekje over de t zone, decolleté, hals en handen en je voelt je weer helemaal fris. Daarna weer even een beetje bronzer of spf op en ik was weer helemaal klaar voor het Disneygeweld.

Voordelen:
Snel en doeltreffend
Makkelijk mee te nemen in de tas
Mag mee het vliegtuig in
Ideaal voor een snelle opfrisser

Heb ik toch nog 1 suggestie, een vaste box waar de doekjes in kunnen die goed afsluit om uitdrogen te voorkomen, de sticker sluit na een aantal weken toch niet meer optimaal. Misschien een leuke kennismakingsset met een leuke opbergdoos lanceren en daarna kunnen we steeds de refills aanschaffen.

Pirates of the Caribbean On stranger tides, the movie & the polishes

Last saturday I was in Disneyland resort Paris to see a pre premiere of Pirates of the caribbean on stranger tides. Again, Jack Sparrow is the center of this swashbuckling adventure. The fuzzy romance is no more, since Will and Elizabeth are no longer present, but that does not mean there is no romance at all.... ;-)
I really enjoyed this movie and I would not have mind if it was longer, sometimes it was a little eerie and to me Ariel will never bean innocent mermaid again..... :-) If you loved the first 3 parts, don't miss this one. On stranger tides is in cinemas now.

My trip to Disneyland resort Paris part 1

zippedeedoodaah zippedeeday my oh my what a wonderful stay! I booked a special Pirates of the carribean event with special opening hours of Adventureland and a Pirates of the caribbean on stranger tides pre premiere (more about the movie tomorrow :) On the special evening there were a lot of Disney characters on the loose, and of course we chased them all (some truly ran away lol! But I was too chicken to go on a picture with Hook....gasp.....) what resulted in some really nice pictures :) The weather was great, sunny and warm and we had a lot of fun and sometimes a little irritation that comes from being together 24 hours as sisters haha. Disney was a 5 hour drive and I really was a little nervous about driving it all by myself, but once on the road it was not that bad, we even had a cd with Disney tunes to get in the mood. I hope these pictures show how much fun it was :) There are more to come....Have a magical evening!

Ik had een speciaal Pirates of the carribean evenement met speciale openinguren  van Adventureland en een Pirates of the caribbean on stranger tides pre premiere (de film bespreek ik morgen :) Tijdens de extra openingsuren waren er heeeel veel Disney figuren losgelaten in het park en we hebben ons best gedaan om ze allemaal te vangen (sommigen sloegen letterlijk op de vlucht en verstopten zich lol!) Ik durfde alleen niet met Kapitein Haak op de foto....Maar we hebben heel veel leuke foto's kunnen maken. Het weer was goddelijk en we hebben ontzettend veel lol gehad, soms ook wel wat kleine irritaties, maar dat hoort erbij als je 2 zussen ineens 3 dagen non stop bij elkaar zet haha. De rit naar Disney was wel iets waar ik me vooraf een beetje nerveus over maakte, 5 uur is toch een flinke zit, maar eenmaal onderweg viel het me ontzettend mee. We hadden ook al een Disney cd om in de stemming te komen :) Ik hoop dat je aan de fotos kan zien hoeveel lol we hadden :) Er volgen er snel meer! Ik wens je een betoverende avond toe :)

he instantly turned around, did a happy dance
