Hand and nail nourishers from Koh

Op sommige van mijn foto's is wel eens duidelijk zichtbaar hoe slecht mijn nagelriemen eraan toe waren. Nu heb ik ook nog eens vrij droge harde nagels (ik kan ze amper buigen dus het wil wel eens gebeuren dat ze tot op de huid afbreken als ik ze dan per ongeluk stoot...auch) en poetsen met schoonmaakhandschoenen dat werkt niet dus mijn nagels hebben nogal wat te verduren. Maar daar heb ik nu de oplossing voor, zeker nu de herfst langzaamaan intrede doet (alhoewel die bakken met regen niet echt langzaamaan te noemen zijn...) en de cv weer wat vaker aan gaat wordt ook de huid van je handen meteen weer een stuk droger. Niet erg charmant, ik ben een tijdje terug begonnen met het verzorgingsregime van Koh en veeleisende ikke is er erg tevreden over.

Koh Essential Nail serum
Mijn routine: Elke avond braaf een druppeltje serum op elke nagel aanbrengen en even laten intrekken, dan masseer ik het serum langzaam in de nagelriemen in. Ik moest eerst erg wennen aan de geur (vrij kruidig) maar de kruidige geur past wel bij dit herfstweer, ander pluspunt is dat de geur zo sterk is en je geurpapillen dusdanig prikkelt en verzadigd dat ik geen zin meer heb om te snoepen (kijk dat moeten ze op de verpakking zetten ;). Het serum hydrateert en verzorgt en geeft meer flexibiliteit aan mijn onbuigzame nagels en vertroetelt mijn nagelriemen die er al stukken beter uitzien en maar goed ook, want ik ben dus geen nagelbijter maar zodra er een stukje nagelriem loszit ga ik daaraan zitten plukken....not cool....

Mijn routine: Als ik eraan denk even lekker inmasseren. Mijn tip: neem hier even lekker de tijd voor, niets zo ontspannend als een goede handmassage. De geur van de creme is lekker fris en je handen voelen lekker fris en gevoed aan. Ik gebruik de olie en handcreme meestal na elkaar als ik in de auto zit en manlief rijdt, even lekker frummelen aan mijn nagels en handen. De tube is verpakt in een prachtige case met spiegel, dus nog een goed excuus om deze tube in je tas te stoppen.

Mijn routine: Op sommige dagen zien mijn nagels wel 6 tot 8 keer een wattenschijfje met remover voorbijkomen. Geloof me daar worden ze erg verdrietig van want de meeste removers bevatten toch vrij heftige stoffen om de lak te kunnen verwijderen. Ik heb geïnvesteerd in de remover van Koh en het is een verschil van dag en nacht. (de remover van Herôme is een goed alternatief als de koh remover niet in je budget in te passen is) Ik geef toe mijn remover vaak bij het kruidvat en de hema te kopen aangezien er nogal wat flessen doorheen gaan bij mij maar geloof me, het is die extra euro's echt waard. Je kan een vermogen uitgeven aan dure nagellak maar als je handen en nagelriemen er droog, gebarsten en onverzorgd uitzien klopt het plaatje niet en was al je moeite voor niks! Echt vet zonde. Ik geef mijn geld ook liever uit aan een extra lakje maar nu ik het verschil zie ga ik niet meer terug.(en de travelsize is zooo schattig klein en handig) Binnenkort meer Koh nieuws...de herfstlook komt eraan!...... On some of my pictures it really shows how I abuse my cuticles with swatching and cleaning, I also suffer from dry and brittle nails (they don't break easily but when they do they go all the way to the skin auch...), so keeping them in good shape takes a lot of effort but I found some products that really help and the demanding diva in me is very happy with these products. I also notice the change of seasons in many ways, one of them is dry rough hands (not very charming) so let's start with a new fall beauty routine.

Koh Essential Nail serum
My routine: Every night one drop of serum on your nail, give it a moment to nourish the nail and massage it slowly and gently into the cuticle. I really had to get used to the scent of the serum (very spicy) but it is actually very suitable for fall, another bonus is that the scent stops me from craving candy and chocolate (they should write that down on the package ;) The serum hydrates and soothes and adds flexibility to my hard nails. My cuticles look so much better what is a good thing because I am not a nailbiter, but when a cuticle starts peeling i have to pull it ...not cool....

Koh Essential hand nourisher
My routine: when I remember to do it, massage it into the hands. My tip: take your time! Nothing more relaxing than a good handmassage. The cream has a fresh scent and makes your hands feel fresh and soft. I like to use the serum and hand nourisher in the car when my hubby is driving, gives me the time to pamper my hands and nails. The tube goes together with a gorgeous case with mirrir, so that's another good excuse to have this with you all the time.

Koh purifying polish removerMy routine: Some days my nails have to deal with remover up to 8 times...Believe me it makes them really sad because removers contain strong chemicals to remove all the polishpigment and those chemicals will make the skin dry. I invested in the remover from Koh and the difference is really noticeable (the herôme remover is a great more budget friendly alternative) I used to buy the cheap drugstore stuff because I use a LOT of remover but trust me, a good more skin friendly remover is worth the extra dollars/euros/pounds/.... When your cuticles look dry and sore even the most expensive polish won't make it look better....such a waste of a good manicure. I prefer spending my cash on another bottle of polish but after having seen the difference, there is no way back for me. (ps look at the travelsize bottle how cute is that!)

Gisteravond lag ik in bed de LINDA. mode te lezen, alles was wel tot ik bij het artikel met de toepasselijke titel 'fashion victims' belandde, de tranen springen nog in mn ogen als ik eraan denk en dat is ook de reden dat ik dit met jullie wil delen. Het artikel ging over de bontindustrie en hoe de rechtmatige eigenaren van hun prachtige velletjes worden ontdaan om daarna een mensenlijf te sieren. Ongelofelijk dat de uitvinding van Adolf Hitler jaarlijks nog miljoenen slachtoffers maakt zonder dat er ophef over ontstaat. Alleen al in Nederland worden er jaarlijks 5 miljoen nertsen vergast om er jassen van te maken. Maar het kan nog erger, Karakul Lammeren worden nog voor ze het daglicht zien uit de baarmoeder van hun doodgestoken moeder gesneden en gevild, hun lichamen worden weggegooid omdat ze te mager zijn voor consumptie. Dit zijn slechts 2 voorbeelden van praktijken die in mijn ogen ware fashion crimes zijn. Maar hoewel dit artikel mijn maag nog doet omdraaien maakt het je wel weer even bewust van alles wat er om ons heen gebeurt, en wellicht kan het van invloed zijn op de keuzes die je maakt. Dus als je twijfelt over dat leuke jasje met bontkraagje (wat ook zomaar van honden of kattenbont kan zijn) ga dan op zoek naar een fake fur variant (ik haat nep, krijg al jeuk als ik eraan denk, maar voor bont maak ik met liefde een uitzondering), kies voor diervriendelijke cosmetica en sla eens vaker een dagje vlees over (trakteer jezelf of jezelf en een groep vriendinnen op een lekkere salade met gegrilde groenten, kaas en noten en serveer met brood en een lekkere dip en een lekkere fles wijn, gegarandeerd succes!)
Kan je de wereld in je eentje veranderen? Nee dat is niet realistisch maar elk klein bewust hapje uh..stapje is er een in de goede richting. Wat een zware kost voor vandaag zeg, maar ik moest het even kwijt.... Morgen maak ik het goed met weer een paar mooie kleuren ;)

Yesterday I was reading a Dutch fashion magazine named LINDA. So far so good, until I got to an article with a suitable name...fashion victims, my stomich flips again by thinking of it and that I why I need to share this with you all. The article was about fur and how the previous owners are used to decorate our bodies. World war 2 is not over yet, in the Netherlands 5 million minxes are taken to the gaschambers, Karakul lamps are killed before they have a chance to be born, ther mothers are killed and the lambs are taken out of the whom to be instantly skinned, this happens to 5 million lambs each year, their bodies are trown away because they are too skinny to be eaten . These are only 2 examples of the horrors in name of fashion, these are the true crimes of fashion I suppose....But despite the awfulness of the article, It made me concious again of the way people use animals and I realized that small steps will get you there too. So if you have doubts about that lovely furcoat you actually don't need? Leave it at the store and go find a fake fur version, don't get me wrong, I hate fake (the tought alone gives me a rash) but for fur I definately will make an exeption. Same thing with meat, there are so many veggie alternatives, make yourself a great salad with grilled veggies, nuts, cheese and seeds. Add some bread and dip and a good bottle of (eco)wine and treat yourself or a group of friends to a low calorie salad meal ;) Choose non animal tested cosmetics.
Can we change the world on our own? Unfortunately not but it's worth the try and help eachother to become more aware. Pfew some heavy stuff right but I had to share it with you, tomorrow I will make it up to you with some pretty colors, that's a promise!

Misa what I like about you fall 2010 collection: It's You....

kijk en kwijl...dit is zo een ontzettend mooie unieke kleur, het is diep houtskoolgrijze shimmer met special effects. Het effect hangt een beetje af van de lichtval (zie fotos) het varieert van paars tot groen maar dit is een kleur die zeker niet snel gaat vervelen. Dit zijn 2 snelle laagjes zonder topcoat. Enjoy!

just watch and drewl..this is such a unique color, it's a deep charcoal grey shimmer with special effects.The effect depends on the light (you will see it in the pictures) but it varies from purple top green you won't get bored easily with this color. This was also 2 quick coats, no topcoat. Enjoy!

Nubar Wildlife

Wildlife is simpelweg prachtig, het is een lichte legergroen die een duochrome effect heeft in een kopperroze /roodgouden tint. Kan je het nog volgen? Haha dit is echt een hele bijzondere lak dit zijn slechts 2 sneldrogende laagjes en de lak is goed hanteerbaar. Ook deze komt van Sparkling nails. Enjoy!

Wildlife is simply stunning, it is a light army green with a gorgeous coppery pink/ pink golden duochrome effect does that make any sense haha? this really is an eyecather and gives perfect result in 2 quick and easy coats. I also purchased this Nubar from Sparkling nails . Enjoy!

Misa fall 2010 What I like about you : I like it like that (and orly comp)

I like it like that is a gorgeous green shimmer from the Misa fall collection. It actually is more vivid apple green with a hint og folden flash in real life, but my camera was too afraid of the color i guess.... Applying this one was easy in 2 coats. Can't wait to show you the other 3 I got from their fall collection ;)

In artificial light the shimmer really shows off :)

I know what you will think of this comparision heehee, it's not about the effect but the colors are quite similar, while swatching the Misa I knew It reminded me of the Orly bottle, they both have thesame fasinating green/blue effect, but here you can see that the Misa is way more green.

The other colors I picked, Quirky smile (teal shimmer), When u say my name (cozy brown shimmer)  & It's You (stunning multi effect grey I loooooove this one guess I will save that for last ;)  Enjoy!

Nubar Venetian glass Caramello & Verde

De Nubar Venetian glass collectie is geinspireerd op het prachtige kleurrijke venetiaanse Muranoglas. Ik ben ooit in zo een glasblazerij in Venetië geweest en dat was een kunst apart. Ik heb 2 van de 7 lakjes aangeschaft (maar het zouden er zomaar meer kunnen worden ;) Caramello is een toffeekleurige "glass fleck shimmer" een lak die lijkt te bestaan uit allemaal kleine stukjes glinsterend glas. Dit is een hele warme kleur en ik heb ook een foto geplaatst onder mn spotlight in de badkamer bij gebrek aan zonlicht :) De lak was makkelijk aan te brengen met smakelijke en schitterende nagels als resultaat.
Verde is een mix van donkergroen en een snufje goud. Ik koop mijn Nubars bij Julie van Sparkling Nails ze verzend internationaal en ik heb er hele goede ervaringen mee, ze zou het heel leuk vinden om te horen dat je haar via Crystaliciousss hebt gevonden :) Nu verder met de swatches van Verde, Enjoy!

The Nubar Venetian glass collection is inspired by the beautiful colorful venetian muranoglass. I visisted Venice twice and I have also visited one of the glassblowing ateliers and it's a fascinating and true craftmanship. I purchased 2 out of the 7 (but that number could climb...;) Caramello is a taffee colored glass fleck shimmer, a polish which looks like tiny pieces of shimmering glass. This is a very warm shade and I also posted a picture taken under my bathroom spotlight due to lack of sunlight. Hope this helps. The polish was easy to apply, with dazzling and tasty looking tips as result.
Verde is a delicious dark green with subtle a hint of gold. I got my Nubars from Sparkling

Nubar Paradise

Ik ga niet eens proberen om deze kleur te omschrijven, in elke lichtval is hij weer anders. Het is wel een vrij transparante kleur (dit zijn 5 laagjes) en ik persoonlijk hou van dekkend, maar 2 laagjes is ook al heel erg geraffineerd. Geniet van deze adembenemend mooie kleur, ze hadden de naam niet beter kunnen kiezen. (alle foto's zijn na elkaar genomen maar in andere lichtval, kon niet kiezen dus plaats ze allemaal, zie je me al lopen door het huis ogen op de nagels en ondertussen continu struikelend over van alles ;) Ik ga snel hondjes uitlaten, het is nu even droog buiten en ik heb 2 logees, dus de tekkelteller staat nu op 5 exemplaren haha. Enjoy!

I am not even going to try to describe this color which is different in each light. It is quite sheer (this is 5 coats) but personally I like my polishes to be opaque when on the nail, but two gave a pretty stunning result too. Enjoy this breathtaking color, they could not have picked a better name. (I could not pick the best picture so I will post them all, they are all taken after another, but in different light, can you picture me walking trough the house looking at my nails and tripping over everything....) It stopped raining so am going to walk the dogs, I have to guests staying (Dolly and Lola yay!) for a couple of days so now there are 5 dachshunds in tha house heehee.
