De lentecollectie van World Inspired Colors (WIC) van Herome is gebaseerd op het prachtige Costa Rica, de 6 tinten vertegenwoordigen het ritme, natuur en gevoel van het zonnige Costa Rica.

Mijn eeste Zoya swatch! Cassi is een lief kleurtje met pit, lief en meisjesachtig en toch opvallend door de overweldigende shimmer. Dit zijn 3 laagjes in bewolkt daglicht, kan je je voorstellen hoe mooi deze kleur is in vol zonlicht! (de lente begon zo goed....zucht....)

My first Zoya swatch! Cassi is a sweet color with a punch, it is sweet and girly but also stands out because of the dazzling shimmer. This is 3 coats in cloudy daylight, can you imagine how gorgeous this looks in full sunlight?? (spring started of so great...sigh....)

Malificent Manicures with Misa toxic seduction and Orly wild wisteria

Er is iets vreemds aan de hand met blogger, veel van mijn afbeeldingen zijn verdwenen, hoop dat deze het wel doen want ze zijn moooooi. Een tijdje terug blogte ik over een mogelijke Sleeping beauty van tim Burton en mogelijke cast en bijbehorende lakjes, en nu blijken ze echt met Angelina Jolie in onderhandeling te zijn over de rol van de wicked Malificent...Vandaag dus twee toepasselijke lakjes.

i hope these come trough because the misa's are awesome....A while ago i blogged  about a possible Sleeping beauty by Tim Burton and possible cast and polishes and now it seems they really are talking to Angelina Jolie for the part of the wicked Malificent....so todat two wicked polishes.

Misa Toxic seduction, deze kleur was echt een verassing, in het flesje vond ik het niet zo spannend maar eenmaal op de nagel wohow! Donkergroen met olijf en goudkleurige shimmer ik had hier al veel over gelezen maar ben nu zelf ook helemaal fan!

Misa Toxic seduction, this color was a real surprise, it did not look very interesting in the bottle, but once it was on the nail wohow! Dark green with olive and golden shimmers, i have read a lot about this one and now i understand the hype!






















Orly Wild wisteria vond ik in het flesje echt te gek, maar de lak was erg stroperig en dat werkt niet handig, zeker niet als het zo een zwaar gepigmenteerde kleur is. Hij matcht niet echt met mijn huidskleur, misschien als ik wat bruiner ben van het zonnetje.

Spring giveaway & Misa the grass is greener on my side

deze foto benadert de echte kleur het meest, al is deze onder mijn bureau genomen in het donker, dus de kleur is in "het eggie" veel feller, zooo lastig om groene lakken te fotograferen, het worden altijd blauwe smurfen..... Click op de afbeelding voor een vergroting dan kan je ook de shimmer zien die deze kleur zo bijzonder maakt.

This picture gets the closest to reality, i have taken this one under my desk in the dark so in real life it is much brighter, but the shade of green is quite accurate i think (as far as possible with those greens...they always go turn into blue smurfs on camera) click on images for enlarged view to see the pretty shimmer.

Dit is zonder topcoat, het is een neon dus droogt mat op al is dat door de shimmer niet storend vind ik.

This is without topcoat, it is a neon so it goes matte when it dries, but for this color with shimmer that is okay in my opinion.

Een van mijn favoriete kleuren van Opi, Royal flush blush van de Las Vegas collectie 2003 een hele mooie perzikkleurige metallic, deze kleur straalt gewoon, dit zijn 3 laagjes, klik op de afbeelding voor een vergroting.

Ik kreeg een tag van Polishsis over 10 dingen die mij gelukkig maken, best lastig om dan een lijstje van 10 dingen te maken, maar vooruit hier komt ie

1) Mijn teckels en bulletje, hoewel ze me soms vreselijk in de maling nemen (geloof me vooral die kleintjes zijn sluw) kan ik me geen leven zonder voorstellen, ze maken je altijd blij met hun rare streken.

2) Disneyyyyyy!!!! Ik heb dus echt een afwijking en die heet Disney, ik hou er gewoon van, de muziekjes de films, Eurodisney...zippedidooodaah....ik mn vliegangst overwonnen heb ga ik zeker naar Disneyworld (en daarna naar Las Vegas maar das een ander verhaal ;)

3) Familie. Mijn mama, kleine zusje (JIIIIIWWWWWW) en grootouders, ik ben gezegend dat ze er nog zijn en spreek mijn opa en oma bijna dagelijks, al trekt mijn oma de telefoon altijd uit opa's handen...tja de man moet zijn plaats weten...arme opa....

En natuurlijk mijn vriendje (hij is 1.96 lang...vriendje klinkt eigenlijk een beetje lullig he?)

vaak is hij gewoon een irritante kerel, maar ook wel een schatje helemaal als we lekker sullig en raar doen. (en hij neemt altijd mooie tijdschriften mee als hij op zakenreis is geweest..bonuspunten!)

4) Kleur, van felgekleurde nagellak tot een mooie avondlucht...soms moet je gewoon even stilstaan en ervan genieten, er is zoveel moois om ons heen, maar meestal razen we er gewoon voorbij...jammer

5) Eten...oooh hier kan ik een boek over schrijven. Ik hou van eten en het liefst veel, heel veel...wat vaak resulteert in huilbuien na de weegschaal maar lekker belangrijk, ik kan sommige verleidingen nou eenmaal niet weerstaan (en gelukkig heb ik de hondjes waar veeeel mee gewandeld moet worden, dat houdt mijn achterwerk nog enigzins in proportie) Ik hou van taart (vooral cheesecake mmmm, chocola geloof me je kan die paaseieren nog zo goed verstoppen, voor mij zijn ze niet veilig....en gek genoeg ben ik ook gek op fruit, vooral ananas.. (ik zou graag nog een ananaskleurige shimmernagellak hebben, pineapply happy anyone???)

6) Mooie tijdschriften, mijn vriendjuh wordt helemaal gek van de bergen tijdschriften die hier rondslingeren (al leest hij ze ook, hij heeft een schoenentic yeah baby!) ik kan uren kijken naar al die mooie dingen om vervolgens de hele mooie uit te knippen en in een map te bewaren. (als het in de map zit hoef ik het ook niet meer te kopen, kijk das nou geld besparen uch uch)

7) De zon, heerlijk hoe de zon op je huid schijnt en de geur van je huid na de zon, helemaal fijn als mijn kleine hondjes heerlijk in het zonnetje liggen te luieren, dat is ultiem geluk.

8) Postpakketjes, hoewel ik het allemaal zelf besteld heb blijft het spannend om ze open te maken, soms laat ik ze expres de hele dag liggen haha (genot moet je uitstellen..uhm....)

9) Italie en alle fijne Italiaanse dingen (schoenen, ijs, sieraden (pomellato kwijl...) italiaans eten )soms als ik een boost nodig zet zet ik Rai uno op (helaas de enige italiaanse zender hier ondanks alle 800 zenders die bij de satelliet zitten grrrrr) van het italiaanse geratel wordt ik zoooo vrolijk (dat krijg je van 12 jaar vakantie in italie en italiaanse tekenfilms die je niet verstaat) Ik spreek trouwens geen italiaans, zou het eigenlijk wel moeten leren.

10) De kleine dingen...als laatste het belangrijkste van allemaal, de kleine dingen die je voor elkaar doet, getagd worden (dank Polishsis :) iemand zomaar een leuke kaart sturen omdat je aan ze denkt, comments krijgen op mijn blog (zooo tof dat jullie daar de tijd voor nemen, ik wordt er zo blij van!) zomaar een lekker kopje thee voor iemand maken. De kleine dingen zijn juist de dingen die er het meest toe doen, koester ze... bedankt voor het lezen van mijn blog, ik waardeer het enorm :)

I got tagged by Polishsis, with the 10 things that make me happy tag, quite tough to narrow it down to 10, so here it is

1) My dachshunds and little bully, altough they totally play tricks on me (especially the little ones, they are soooo smart) I cannot imagine being without them, they always do funny things to make you happy. an image says more than a 1000 words, so here are a few 1000 words (see pics of my sweeties up in this post)

2) Disneyyyy!!! i have DD, a total Disney disorder, zippedidoodaaaah i love it so much, the music, the movies, Eurodisney...when i step over my fear of flying i have to go to Disneyworld (and afterwards to Las Vegas ;)

3) Family. My mother, little sister (JIWWWWWWWWWWW) ans grandparents, i am blessed to still have my grandparents all talk to them almost every day, altough grandma always pulls the phone out of grandpa's hand, no doubt who's the boss over there...poor grandpa...

And of course my boyfriend, (kinda silly calling a 1.96m guy a boy oh welll) who ennoys me a lot, but still is a sweetheart especially when we are acting al goofy and dorky. (and he brings me the good magazines when he is on business trips.. bonus points!)

4) Color, everything from bright nailpolish to a beautiful evening sky, sometimes you just have to stop and look for a while, there are so many beautiful things and mostly we don't take the time to look and just rush on....

5) Food! oooh i can write a book about food, i love food and especially a lot of it (what has bursting into tears as a result of seing my weight on the scale but whatever, sometimes i just can't resist temptation (and luckily for me i have to walk the dogs a lot so that keeps my ass in a reasonable proportion) I love cake (especially cheesecake mmmm) chocolate (don't think you can hide those easter eggs i will hunt them down...seriously) and funny enough i really like fruit such as pineapple.. Which reminds me i really want a shimmery pineapple yellow polish (pineapply happy anyone?)

6) Magazines sometimes my boyfriend gets insane of all the magazines i got piled up here (he reads them too... he has a shoe fetish...yeah baby!) i loeve to look at all the pretty stuff in the mags and when it is really good i take it out and put in in one of my "pretty things files" (once it is in there i kinda own it and don't have to buy it...how economical is that???? sure...)

7) The sun, don't you just love the way the sun touches the skin (don't forget a good spf!) and the smell of sunkissed skin. I love the sun even more when my little dogs are lying in the sun, all relaxed and happy.

8) Packages in the mail, altough i order it all myself, nothing more exciting than opening them up! sometimes i leave them all day and open them in the evening ( a weird way of delaying pleasure haha)

9) Italy, all italian stuff (shoes, gelato, jewelry (pomellato drewl) and italian food) sometimes when i need a positive boost, i turn on Rai uno on the tv (the only italian channel despite of the 800 satellite channels grrrrrr) the italian rambling always cheers me up (that is what you get after 12 years camping in italy with only italian cartoons on...) I don't speak italian by the way but i really should learn it.

10) The little things...and finally the most important of them all, the little things you do for eachother, being tagged (thank you Polishsis :) sending someone a nice postcard without an ocassion, just because you think of them, getting comments on my blog (sooo wonderfull you take the time for doing that, it makes me so happy!) making someone a cup of tea, the little things matter the most cherish them...

Koh no worries

Met 20 graden in het zonnetje is het al echt lente, het zonnetje schijnt, don't worry be happy, zeker als je Koh no worries op je nagels hebt! Het is een felblauwe tint (donkerder en feller dan de meeste blauwe lakjes zoals opi groovy, misa right here now, cg bahamian escape) en knalt echt van je nagels af, en toch is er iets dat deze kleur zo bijzonder maakt, het is een kalmerende rustgevende kleur en toch vol energie (therapie in een flesje??? lekker tegenstrijdig, net als ik ;) Dit zijn 2 laagjes, lakken met deze kleur is zo gepiept dus ook in die zin heet deze lak met recht no worries! De kleur doet me trouwens denken aan de felblauwe griekse daken in Santorini, alleen dan in hoogglans, dit is een van mijn nieuwe favorieten!

It's 20 degrees celsius in the sun, so it really is spring here, don't worry be happy, especially when wearing Koh no worries a superbright blue (darker and more vibrant as most blue cremes such as Opi groovy, misa right here now and china glaze bahamian escape) and really pops on the nail, funny thing about this polish is that it is actually a very calming and soothing shade of blue and yet so full of energy (therapy in a bottle??? very contradicional just like me;) This is 2 coats, and the application does the name justice, no worries here, smooth and even. The color reminds me a bit of the blue greek rooftops in Santorini, i really dig this color!

Essie Resort collectie preview

Deze zomer komt Essie met een waanzinnige zomerlook, de Resort collectie omvat 4 (volgens mij creme) lakken in prachtige kleuren, ik heb ze alle 4 op mijn  verlanglijst staan! Deze lakken zullen in meiverkrijgbaar zijn, zodra ik ze heb gekocht zal ik ze zeker voor je swatchen.

This Summer Essie will launch an exiting summerlook, the resort collection exists of 4 (i think creme) polishes in gorgeous colors, they are all on my wishlist! Available in may.As soon as i get my hands on them i will swatch them for you.

Orly prim&proper my true love is back!!!!

Nog een mooie kleur uit de lentecollectie van vorig jaar, prim & proper uit de prepster collectie

is een zo goed als exacte match op een van mijn favoriete kleuren allertijden, Chanel flocon 05 (helaas niet meer verkrijgbaar snik......) dus ik ben echt zo enthousiast over deze kleur! Toen ik begon met lakken werd ik alleen een beetje nijdig...want de formule is net zo *** als flocon destijds maarrr....als de lak eenmaal droogt "settelt" hij (ja HIJ, de lak gedraagt zich als een vent ) zich toch nog mooi op de nagel. Dit zijn 2 laagjes lak, het is een hele lichte tint metallic lila/roze heel erg flatteus en toch apart genoeg voor mij.

Another pretty color from last years spring collection is prim&proper from the prepster collection, this is almost a perfect match to one of my favorite polishes of all times, Chanel flocon 05.. so i am so exited about this color! When i started doing my nails i got a little pissed, the formula is thesame **** as the flocon was but......one drying the polish setteled itself nicely on the nail (pfew). This is 2 coats, it's a metallic, very pale pink/lilac very delicate and flattering, but still stands out to me.

Essie bridal collection

Essie heeft een "bridal" collectie uitgebracht met 6 lakjes, alle lakjes zijn sheer, dus erg mooi voor een french manicure (daar komt de bruid...) of als je niet zo van de opvallende kleuren bent (huh??? kan dat....lol). Er is ook een setje met 4 mini's namelijk petal pink, walk down the isle, show me the ring en main squeeze. Helaas heb ik (nog) geen swatches, misschien schaf ik de mini's aan, maar ik ben niet zo van de sheer lakjes. Wat denk jij van deze collectie???

Essie came out with a bridal collection of 6 sheer shades, very nice for a french (bridal) mani or if you are not into the explicit colors (huh???? is that possible...lol).

There will be a mini set of 4 containing petal pink, walk down the isle, show me the ring and main squeeze. Unfortunately i have no swatches (yet) i might pick up the mini set, but i am not that much into sheers....What do you think of this collection?

Het zal nog even duren maar vanaf juni is hij ook in Nederland verkrijgbaar, de enige echte Shrek collectie van OPI!

Koh summer 2010 collectie

Nog even geduld...medio april liggen de nieuwe KOH lakjes in de winkel. De collectie bestaat uit 6 zachte tinten, maar dat wil niet zeggen dat ze niet opvallen! Baby Yellow, Baby Grey, Baby Blue,  Baby Beige,  Baby Pink en Baby Skin zijn prachtige draagbare kleuren voor handen en voeten (baby blue op zongebruinde voetjes...) Mijn absolute favoriet is baby grey, een zachte grijstint met roze shimmer echt waanzinnig mooi. Ik hoef zeker niet uit te leggen dat ik ze alle 6 wil....De kleuren zijn vooral mooi omdat beige, greige en gelatokleurtjes helemaal in style zijn deze zomer, dus laat zien die mooie nagels! Ik zeg Ciao bella!

A little more patientce....in april the new KOH colors will be available. The collection excists of 6 soft  gelato and nude/greige shades, which does not mean they do not stand out! Baby Yellow, Baby Grey, Baby Blue, Baby Beige, Baby Pink en Baby Skin are stunning wearable colors for tips and toes (baby blue on bronzed tips....) My favorite is baby grey, a soft edgy grey with pink shimmer sooooo gorgeous! You understand i will need them all... The colors are really in style this summer, the colors to wear are beige, greige and gelato themed colors, show those nails! Ciao Bella!

LA Girls Rockstar Backstage

Backstage is een roze peach met gele roze en paarse glitter, deze kleur is zo spectaculair dat het op de foto eigenlijk niet helemaal overkomt. Fascinerend lakje! Dit zijn 3 laagjes lak.

shopping spree...bad bad girl!

volgens mij ben ik een beetje doorgeslagen bij het shoppen, maar dit doe ik ook weer niet elke week (heus!)
En zo vaak kom ik niet in de Bijenkorf Amsterdam, dus het mocht best ;) Eerst even langs mac (zooo jammer dat de visagisten elkaar aan het opmaken waren) en vanaf daar de afdeling door. Het is een prachtige afdeling alleen heel jammer dat de bezetting zo slecht is. Er is een stand van Mac, bobbi brown, la mer en alle andere "bekende" merken. Op de tweede etage zit een heel fijn merk verstopt, daar heeft Koh namelijk een stand. De nieuwe kleuren lagen er ook al om te bekijken (hopelijk heb ik snel een afbeelding voor je) want de nieuwe lakken zijn mooooooi!

I think i went a little crazy on my shopping spree...but it's not like i do this every week (really!)
And i don't visit the cosmetic department of the Bijenkorf Amsterdam every week so i think i was allowed ;) First i stopped at the Mac counter (too bad the make-up artists were working each other instead of the customers...) and worked my way trough, the department is great, one point of improvement is there is not a lot of staff around to help...they have mac, bobbi brown, la mer (i still did not win the F*'in lottery) and all the other high end european brands. Hidden on the 2nd floor is the counter of Koh! one of my favorite polish brands. They already had testers of the new summer collection (hope to have pics soon) and it is nice!

Opi Hot&Spicy comparision part 2

zoals beloofd nog een vergelijking van Hot&Spicy, ditmaal met oranje lakjes. En voor de volledigheid ook nog even de eerste vergelijking.

Opi Banana Bandana

Bij gebrek aan zonlicht een zonnig kleurtje :)

Banana bandana van opi is een lichtgele lak met een hele fijne shimmer. Het is wel even een klusje om hem dekkend te krijgen (4 laagjes) maar het is de moeite waard. Eerst vond ik dit helemaal niks maar ik vind m hoe langer hoe mooier. De laatste foto is een vergelijking bam banana bandana (vingers) en China glaze lemon fizz (duim) en ondanks het werk, verkies ik de finish van banana bandana boven de krijtachtige look van lemon fizz. Ik ben nou eenmaal verlslaafd aan shimmer, wat doe je eraan....

No sun today, so a sunny polish is required :)

Banana bandana is a light yellow with tiny shimmer. It takes some time and effort to get this opaque (4 coats) but it is worth the effort. At first i really did not like this, but it really grows on me.

The last pic is a comparision of banana bandana (on fingers) and China glaze lemon fizz (thumb) the formula on those is really different, and despite the work, i prefer banana bandana's finish, lemon fizz looks somewhat chalky. I am just addicted to shimmer, can't help it...

And my polish oscar goes to......

Op de een of andere manier gaan de oscars steeds meer tegenvallen, zou dat komen door de talloze award shows (er is elke maand wel ergens wat te winnen) of verassen de jurken gewoon niet meer? Gelukkig zijn er een paar uitzonderingen, Queen latifah in prachtig roze en Nicole Richie in stunning zilver (plus oscar voor beste make up!). Mijn absolute winnares is Demi Moore in Atelier Versace, die bewijst dat je niet overdreven opvallend hoeft te doen om op te vallen (huh... ja echt) net zo mooi als de look waren de nagels, het zogeheten greige (grijs-beige) 2 mooie kleuren voor deze look zijn china glaze greit barrier beige (wijs en ringvinger) en opi tickle my france-y (pink en middel).

Somehow the oscars dissapoint more each year, maybe because there are so many award shows or do the gowns stopped wowing me? Thankfully there are a few exeptions, Queen Latifah in beautiful pink and Nicole Richie in stunning silver (hello best make up!) My absolute winner is Demi Moore in Atelier Versace who proves once again that you don't need to go over the top to stand out, her greige nails were just as lovely as the dress. Two nice polish suggestions are china glaze great barrier beige (index and ringfinger) and opi tickle my france-y (pinkie and middlefinger).

La Girl Rockstar Scandal experiment

Vorige week kwam mijn bestelling van Boozyshop binnen, ik had onder andere 2 lakjes van LA girl besteld

Koh! shaded blue 165

Nog een prachtkleur van Koh! de kleur laat voor zichzelf spreken :) Dit zijn 3 laagjes.
Een kleine aanmerking, ik had de kleur shaded blueberry genoemd, deze mooie tint met blauwe en paarse shimmer doet me denken aan blueberry's. en dan eigenlijk aan blueberry muffins....)

Another beauty from Koh! Let the pic speak for itself, this is 3 coats. I have only one tiny remark, i would have called this one shaded blueberry, this lovely color with blue and purple shimmer makes me think of blueberry's (blueberry muffins actually.....)
